There will be additional matinee performances on Thursday June 10 and Thursday June 24 at 2:00pm and an evening performance on Monday June 28 at 7:30pm.

Jersey Boys now booking to 2 Jan 2010

The Tony and Grammy Award-winning musical Jersey Boys has extended its booking period through to 2 Jan 2011.

The musical, now in its 4th year, opened on Broadway at the August Wilson Theatre on the 6 Nov 2005, following previews from the 4 Oct.

Jersey Boys is the story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons: Frankie Valli, Bob Gaudio, Tommy DeVito and Nick Massi, about a group of blue-collar boys from the wrong side of the tracks who became one of the biggest American pop music sensations of all time. They wrote their own songs, invented their own sounds and sold 175 million records worldwide – all before they were thirty.

The cast of Jersey Boys currently features Jarrod Spector (Frankie Valli), Andrew Rannells (Bob Gaudio), Dominic Nolfi (Tommy DeVito) and Matt Bogart (Nick Massi).

Jersey Boys is produced on Broadway by Dodger Theatricals, Joseph J. Grano, Tamara and Kevin Kinsella, Pelican Group, in association with Latitude Link and Rick Steiner/Oshen/Staton/Bell/Mayerson Group.

Lafayette native Ryan Strand went from an Off-Broadway tour of Altar Boyz to one of the hottest shows on the road today, the Broadway tour of “Jersey Boys.” The popular musical tells the story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. Ryan Strand, is part of “The Jersey Boys” cast which is coming to Indianapolis.

Strand is on the swing crew, meaning he has understudied three ensemble members’ roles as well as the role of Frankie Valli. If the actors who play those roles are sick, injured or on vacation, the 26-year-old steps in.
“I have 87 costumes spread out over the four parts,” Strand said. “One ensemble member plays 17 different roles throughout the show.”
Strand will have a homecoming when Jersey Boys comes to downtown Indianapolis’ Murat Theatre, 502 N. New Jersey St., with a run starting Wednesday and going through July 3. He is booked to be in the ensemble during the last week of the show’s Indy run. The week before, he will be on his honeymoon as he will be getting married to Becca Kloha of New York. The nuptials will be in Brown County.

Jersey Boys National Tour Featured in ‘Broadway Backwards’ Benefit in Indianapolis on June 17!

The Jersey Boys national tour company will be featured in “Broadway Backwards” on June 17 at 10:30 PM at Forty-Five Degrees in Indianapolis! It will be truly a unique night of Broadway switcheroo, in addition to a silent auction. All proceeds will benefit Step Up, Inc. and Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. $20 suggested donation at the door. The cast is coming after their show is over, and while we are stating a 10:30pm start time, it may be later than that.

Forty-Five Degrees will be hosting the event, which is co-sponsored by Indy Pride, Step Up, and Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

Such was the case when John Lloyd Young burst onto the Broadway scene as Frankie Valli in Jersey Boys. In bringing the Four Seasons icon to life, Young gave a magnetic star turn (featuring an impeccable falsetto) and was rewarded with a Tony in what he acknowledges was stiff competition.
