Jersey Boys Broadway Cast Update – Richard H. Blake to Join as ‘Tommy DeVito’ in January

The producers of the Tony, Olivier and Grammy Award-winning Best musical Jersey Boys have announced that Richard H. Blake (Legally Blonde, Wicked) will join the cast on Thursday, January 9, 2014 in the role of “Tommy DeVito.” He assumes the role from Andy Karl who departs the production following the Sunday, December 1st performance. John Gardiner, who played “Tommy” on the national tour, will perform the role from December 3, 2013 through Wednesday, January 8, 2014.
Jersey Boys is the story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons: Frankie Valli, Bob Gaudio, Tommy DeVito and Nick Massi, about a group of blue-collar boys from the wrong side of the tracks who became one of the biggest American pop music sensations of all time. They wrote their own songs, invented their own sounds and sold 175 million records worldwide – all before they were thirty. Jersey Boys Broadway Cast Update – Dominic Scaglione Jr. and Joseph Leo Bwarie Will Be Frankie Valli
Tony, Olivier and Grammy Award-winning Best Musical Jersey Boys current ‘Franki Valli,’ John Lloyd Young, will play his final performance on 28 Jul 2013. The producers of Jersey Boys announced July 11 that Dominic Scaglione Jr. and Joseph Leo Bwarie will alternate in the role of Frankie Valli in the Broadway company at the August Wilson Theatre beginning July 30.
A veteran of the Broadway company, Scaglione currently plays the role at Wednesday and Saturday matinee performances, and has also performed the role in the Chicago and Las Vegas productions. Bwarie, who will be making his Broadway debut, played ‘Frankie Valli’ across the country in the musical’s first national tour.
Scaglione will play ‘Frankie Valli’ six times a week, while Bwarie will perform the role at the Wednesday and Saturday matinee performances.
The cast of Jersey Boys also includes Matt Bogart (Nick Massi), Drew Gehling (Bob Gaudio) and Andy Karl (Tommy DeVito) with Peter Gregus and Mark Lotito, Miles Aubrey, Erik Bates, Candi Boyd, Jared Bradshaw, Ken Dow, Russell Fischer, Renée Marino, Rashad Naylor, Katie O’Toole, Joe Payne, Jessica Rush, Nathan Scherich, Sara Schmidt and Taylor Sternberg.
Jersey Boys is written by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, with music by Bob Gaudio, lyrics by Bob Crewe, direction by two-time Tony Award winner Des McAnuff and choreography by Sergio Trujillo.

Jersey Boys Broadway Cast Update – Andy Karl Returns February 12
Andy Karl, who is currently appearing in the Broadway revival of The Mystery of Edwin Drood, will be returning to the Broadway company of Jersey Boys next month at the August Wilson Theatre.
Andy Karl will assume the role of ‘Tommy DeVito’ beginning Feb. 12 following the departure of current star Jeremy Kushnier after the Sunday, February 10 performance.
Andy Karl returns to Jersey Boys after appearing as Neville Landless/Victor Grinstead in the Broadway revival of The Mystery of Edwin Drood. He has originated the roles of Luke in Altar Boyz; Joe in 9 to 5; the UPS Guy in Legally Blonde on Broadway and MTV. His other credits include Wicked, The Wedding Singer, Saturday Night Fever, Sondheim’s Saturday Night, SLUT! the musical and Romeo & Bernadette. His film credits Joyful Noise; On the One; New York, I Love You.

Tony Winner John Lloyd Young Again Return to Jersey Boys Broadway
Tony winner John Lloyd Young once again will return to the role of Frankie Valli in Broadway’s Jersey Boys on January 11, 2013 for a limited engagement. This marks Young’s third engagement as Valli. He originated the role in 2005, and returned to the musical for a three-month run on Broadway this summer July 3 through Sept. 30.
He will replace Jarrod Spector, who exits the production on December 30. Till the time John Lloyd Young joins the cast, the role will be played by Dominic Scaglione Jr. for performances from December 31 through January 10.

Jarrod Spector will again take the role of Frankie Valli in Jersey Boys Broadway on October 2 at the August Wilson Theater as Tony winner John Lloyd Young will play his final performance on September 30. The Jersey Boys Broadway cast will also joined by Drew Gehling and Jeremy Kushnier on October 9 as Bob Gaudio and Tommy DeVito, respectively as Quinn VanAntwerp and Andy Karl scheduled to depart on October 7.

John Lloyd Young Returns to Jersey Boys as ‘Frankie Valli’
On July 3, the Broadway company of Jersey Boys will welcome back John Lloyd Young, who created the role of Frankie Valli in the original Broadway company and on the Grammy-winning, platinum cast album. John Lloyd Young’s first performance is Tuesday, July 3rd at 7 p.m.
Young played Marius in Les Miserables at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles and guest starred on “Glee.” Offstage, Young is a successful artist. His pieces sell at East and West Coast fine art galleries, have raised tens of thousands for charity, and a JLY piece hangs at L.A.’s famed restaurant, Spago.
