The Hershey engagement of award-winning musical, “Jersey Boys,” broke the box office record at Hershey Theatre, grossing $1,282,369 for the week ending Sunday.
The musical, which has won Tony, Grammy and Olivier awards, is the story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons: Frankie Valli, Bob Gaudio, Tommy DeVito and Nick Massi. It’s a journey of how a group of blue-collar boys from the wrong side of the tracks became one of the biggest American pop music sensations of all time. They wrote their own songs, invented their own sounds and sold 175 million records worldwide – all before they were 30.
Jersey Boys Musical is now the No. 1 attended and grossing show of all time for a week-long engagement at Hershey Theatre. It tops the previous record of $1,019,449 held by “Spamalot.”
