Jersey Boys Musical Coming Back to San Francisco’s Curran Theatre March 2013

Jersey Boys Musical, the story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, returns to San Francisco as part of the SHN series. SHN announced that it’s bringing back the popular musical “Jersey Boys” as part of its current season. “Jersey Boys,” the long-running Broadway show about Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons which had a highly successful extended run at the Curran Theatre beginning in 2006, will return to the Curran Theatre on March 9, 2013 and continue through April 28, 2013.

Jersey Boys previously played San Francisco back in 2006 to packed houses and ecstatic reviews. A raucous crowd-pleaser even for those who don’t know Valli from Vivaldi, the musical has been seen by more than 15 million people wordwide. The high-octane production’s nonstop parade of pop hits includes “Sherry,” “Walk Like a Man,” “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You,” “Working My Way Back To You” and the climactic “Who Loves You.”

Jersey Boys will run through April 28, 2013 at San Francisco’s Curran Theatre.

Jersey Boys Musical Opens at Landmark Theatre Tuesday, Oct 09

Jersey Boys Musical Comes to Syracuse, NY for the first of 24 performances at the recently expanded Landmark Theatre. The musical about the start and success of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons plays through October 28, 2012. Famous Artists Broadway Theater Series brings the Jersey Boys touring production to Syracuse, NY.

The Landmark Theater NY recently expanded its facility, making it possible to host much larger events. Jersey Boys debuts as the first major, Broadway-style production hosted at the Landmark since it was built in 1928. The $16 million renovation was completed last November, with this being the biggest production taken on in the updated facility.

Executive Director Denise DiRienzo told CNY Central’s Alex Dunbar, “It’s a whole new venue. We have a stage now; we have a true performing arts stage. We’re able to fit a lot more on that stage.”

Production Stage Manager Molly Meg Legal said: “A place like this, we walked in – we had all the space we needed. We didn’t have to backload trucks. That’s a really big help. It saved us hours of time and it makes all of us feel comfortable for the few weeks we’re going to be here.”

Jersey Boys Broadway Cast Update – Jeremy Kushnier and Drew Gehling Joined

Drew Gehling assumes the role of Bob Gaudio, and Jeremy Kushnier begins performances as Tommy DeVito in the Broadway company of the Tony-winning musical Jersey Boys October 09, 2012.

They succeed Quinn VanAntwerp and Andy Karl, who played their final performances Oct. 7.

Drew Gehling previously played the role of Bob Gaudio in Jersey Boys companies in Las Vegas, San Francisco, Chicago and Broadway. Jeremy Kushnier has played the role of Tommy DeVito in Chicago, Las Vegas and Toronto.

The Broadway production opened Nov. 6, 2005, at the August Wilson Theatre. Jersey Boys is written by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, with music by Bob Gaudio, lyrics by Bob Crewe, direction by two-time Tony Award winner Des McAnuff and choreography by Sergio Trujillo. The current Broadway cast is led by Jarrod Spector (Frankie Valli) and Matt Bogart (Nick Massi) with Peter Gregus and Mark Lotito. The cast also includes Miles Aubrey, Jared Bradshaw, Cara Cooper, Ken Dow, John Edwards, Russell Fischer, Kristofer McNeeley, Katie O’Toole, Joe Payne, Jessica Rush, Dominic Scaglione Jr., Nathan Scherich, Sara Schmidt and Taylor Sternberg.
