Jersey Boys Musical Comes to Syracuse, NY for the first of 24 performances at the recently expanded Landmark Theatre. The musical about the start and success of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons plays through October 28, 2012. The Landmark Theater NY recently expanded its facility, making it possible to host much larger events. Jersey Boys debuts as the first major, Broadway-style production hosted at the Landmark since it was built in 1928. The $16 million renovation was completed last November, with this being the biggest production taken on in the updated facility.
Executive Director Denise DiRienzo told CNY Central’s Alex Dunbar, “It’s a whole new venue. We have a stage now; we have a true performing arts stage. We’re able to fit a lot more on that stage.”
Production Stage Manager Molly Meg Legal said: “A place like this, we walked in – we had all the space we needed. We didn’t have to backload trucks. That’s a really big help. It saved us hours of time and it makes all of us feel comfortable for the few weeks we’re going to be here.”
