Jersey Boys Australia Wins Helpmann Awards

Jersey Boys Australia wins two Helpmann Awards–in the categories of Best Musical and Best Musical Direction. At a star studded event held tonight in the Opera Theatre, Sydney Opera House Jersey Boys – The Story of Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons won the most coveted Helpmann Award to be presented – Best Musical. The Helpmann Awards celebrate excellence and achievement in live performance. In addition the show won Best Music Direction – Ron Melrose & Luke Hunter.

To top off the evening the cast of the show performed live at the Awards Ceremony and received a prolonged standing screaming ovation. Rodney Rigby, Producer, said “It was a wonderful honour for the entire Jersey Boys company to be recognised by our Industry peers.”

Jersey Boys is already the recipient of four Tony Awards® including Best Musical, winner of the Olivier Award for Best New Musical, and winner of seven Victorian Green Room Awards.
