Jersey Boys star Ben Evans Interview

One of the stars of West end musical Jersey Boys, Ben Evans said he is really enjoying his time in the show.

Ben Evans plays Frankie Valli at the Prince Edward Theatre and he told Wales on Sunday that acting is all he ever wanted to do.

He recently began playing the lead role after a period as understudy and he said it is brilliant to be playing to packed audiences every night.

“To move from understudy to take the main role of Frankie Valli is obviously really challenging but I’m loving it,” said Mr Evans.

West End star Ben Evans never wanted to do anything but sing and act. And winning a scholarship to a world famous theatre school at 12 put him well on the way to following his dreams. Now, as the lead in the hit musical Jersey Boys, he tells he couldn’t be happier.

Ben Evans is the first to admit he’s addicted to acting. Not only does he star in eight shows a week playing Frankie Valli in the multi-award winning musical Jersey Boys but he’s also spending his one evening off at the theatre.

However, the performer said he does have one complaint about the Jersey Boys role – getting to sleep is difficult with such catchy songs going around in his head afterwards.

Jersey Boys tells the story of how Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons rose from the wrong side of the tracks to sell 100 million records worldwide, earning themselves a place in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in the process.
