Jersey Boys musical will return to Buffalo, NY in the month of May 2013 for two weeks. Jersey Boys Shea’s Performing Arts Center performances will start on May 08 and continue through May 18, 2013.
Jersey Boys won the 2006 Tony Award for Best Musical, the 2006 Grammy Award for Best Musical Show Album, the 2009 Olivier Award for Best New Musical, the 2010 Helpmann Award for Best Musical (Australia), and continues to break box office records on Broadway and across North America.
“We are very excited for the return of ‘Jersey Boys’ as it continues to be one of our most requested shows. In addition, this two-week engagement provides a significant economic impact, drawing visitors Downtown and to the region,” Anthony Conte, president of Shea’s, said in a statement.

Standing ovations, packed houses and cheering crowds of people who look more like they’re at a concert than a Broadway show have become commonplace at Shea’s Performing Arts Center.
It’s all thanks to blockbuster musical “Jersey Boys,” which is in the midst of a three-week run at Shea’s, performing till May 09, 2010. The Tony, Grammy and Olivier award winner for best musical is the true story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons. It portrays a group of blue-collar boys from the wrong side of the tracks who make it big, selling 175 million records worldwide before they turn 30 years old.
It may sound like a typical Hollywood storyline, but Shea’s President and CEO Tony Conte said there’s no fluff in this story line.
“Probably the most interesting part of this particular production is that this is not a story that has been cleaned up for public viewing or anything like that. It’s the real story,” Conte said. “Having met Frankie Valli when the show opened and talked to him, he assured me that this is in fact the real story. It has all the ugly stuff about it.”

The Broadway hit “Jersey Boys” finally comes to Buffalo Wednesday April 21, 2010. 70,000 are expected to see the musical about Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons during the show’s three week run, performing till May 09, 2010 at Shea’s Performing Arts Center , and that is expected to bring more money to downtown Buffalo.
Michael Schmand, Executive Director of Buffalo Place, says, “it shows if you invest your money, and I think with the city and Shea’s investing in the expansion of Shea’s with the hope of bringing in big shows, it helps everyone in downtown Buffalo.” He says restaurant and bar owners are excited to have such a show in town as well.
Schmand adds “Jersey Boys” could mean a new clientele having the chance to see downtown Buffalo for a night. “We have an unbelieveable amount of opportunities to experience downtown Buffalo. This only makes it better,” says Schmand.
Schmand says folks should feel safe and secure while downtown, and with “Jersey Boys” and other events downtown, “it’s a downtown people can be proud of.”

Jersey Boys Sets New Box Office Record in Charlotte for the 3rd Time for week ending 4/18/10: $1,265,665.00
The Charlotte, NC engagement of the Tony, Grammy and Olivier Award-winning musical Jersey Boys broke the box office record for the third time at the Belk Theatre, part of the Broadway Lights Series presented by the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center, for the week ending April 18, its final week of performances. The hit musical grossed $1,265,665.00, breaking its own record set the previous week.
JERSEY BOYS began performances in Charlotte on March 31 and Ended on April 18, 2010. JERSEY BOYS will next play Buffalo, NY’s Shea Performing Arts Center from April 21 through May 9.

The Jersey Boys national tour is opening Tuesday, April 20 and plays through May 9 in Buffalo at Shea’s Performing Arts Center. Denise Payne, one of the production’s “Jersey Girls” is a Buffalo native.
Versatility is a critical quality for a Jersey Girl, says Denise. “The three women in the show play 54 characters! I have 19 quick changes. Our wardrobe person is amazing – our costumes are meticulously organized and labeled with our photographs. Some of them are extremely expensive. I play Frankie Valli’s mother; I also play his daughter. I play the date at the church. I play the woman of the evening. It’s all a lot of fun!”
Even with the thrill of touring in a hit show like Jersey Boys, Denise is excited to be performing at Shea’s. “Shea’s is a dream for every Buffalo performer. My family is still in Buffalo. My mom, sister, brother-in-law, aunt, uncle, two nieces, half-sister, and on and on.
