The North American national touring company of Jersey Boys rolled into town on Wednesday of last week. Jersey Boys will be performing at National Theatre – DC for almost 8 weeks through Jan 07, 2012.
This Broadway hit, “The Story of Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons,” the musical tells a tale that transcends show business gossip to become a close character study of four talented but very different blue-collar guys from New Jersey — who just happen to have sung some of the best close-harmony rock/pop tunes of the late 1950s, the 1960s and into the 1970s.
The real reason to see this production is the music. The songs that were able to drive excitable teenagers to the dance floor nearly 50 years ago, like “Sherry,” “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” “Let’s Hang On (To What We’ve Got),” and “December, 1963 (Oh, What a Night),” still possess a strange kind of power with their snappy beats and harmonized hooks, particularly when performed with such energy and polish—there’s a good chance you’ll need to have the tunes surgically removed from your head in the weeks following the show. It’s no wonder the National Theatre brought this musical back for an encore.

Jersey Boys Returns to National Theatre in Washington DC
The Washington, D.C., return engagement of the Tony, Grammy and Olivier Award-winning hit musical Jersey Boys, the story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons will be playing the National Theatre November 10, 2011 to January 7, 2012.
The cast of Jersey Boys will be led by Preston Truman Boyd (Bob Gaudio), Joseph Leo Bwarie (returning to D.C. as Frankie Valli), John Gardiner (Tommy DeVito), and Michael Lomenda (Nick Massi) and as The Four Seasons, with Jonathan Hadley and Washington-area native, Joseph Siravo.
The ensemble of Jersey Boys includes Christopher Deangelis, Lauren Dicierdo, John Michael Dias, Frankie J. Galasso, Buck Hujabre, Denise Payne, Mauricio Pérez, Timothy Quinlan, Kyli Rae, Brian Silverman, Kara Tremel, Mark Verdino, Donald Webber, Jr., Kevin Worley, and Adam Zelasko.
